Tijjani Reijnders was one of AC Milan’s few standout players during the recently concluded season. During times when the squad was struggling, he and Pulisic were able to bring home some wins. Naturally, then, major teams like Manchester City are taking notice of the Dutchman’s growth.
The Pep Guardiola-coached team is actually eager to sign him as soon as possible. Fabrizio Romano reports today that the Premier League team made an initial attempt to capture the 26-year-old midfield player from AC Milan.
The renowned Italian journalist claims that the English company’s offer is worth over 60 million euros, including bonuses. However, the Rossoneri club management wants more money in order to allow its hero to leave.
In order to play in the Club World Cup in the USA starting in mid-June, Manchester City is also committed to acquiring the Dutchman. Negotiations are allegedly progressing, but we will have to wait and see how things develop from here.
First summer signing ready to be closed
The Manchester team made a significant investment in January to add players like Vitor Reis, Nico Gonzalez, Abdukodir Khusanov, and Omar Marmoush to the team after needing to restock their roster for some time.
However, that was prior to confirmation of De Bruyne’s departure. Given that and Silva’s declining star, City is reorganizing their roster in an attempt to acquire a Serie A player. According to the Italian website TUTTOmercatoWEB, Pep Guardiola’s team is apparently getting closer to signing Tijjani Reijnders, a midfielder for AC Milan.
The Premier League team has an offer of €60 million ready, which may increase to €70 million with add-ons, they disclosed. City can at least replicate some of De Bruyne’s numbers with a player like Reijnders, but it would be foolish to try to duplicate his magic. Reijnders’ transfermarkt value is €50 million.
