Aymeric Laporte Finally Makes A Good Impression On Pep Guardiola

Pep Guardiola was full of praise for Aymeric Laporte after win over Sheffield United.

Manchester City managed a hard-fought 1-0 win at the back of an excellent defensive performance from the team.

Laporte, who has lost his starting berth to John Stones this season was allowed a rare start at the Etihad.

“I am happy Aymer is back,” said the City boss. “He played really well. It’s not just Ruben [Dias] and John [Stones], it’s everyone – Nathan [Ake], Aymer, the full-backs, Joao [Cancelo], Kyle [Walker] and Oleks [Zinchenko].”

City had a difficult time creating chances against Chris Wilder’s men.

“Today I see the team [Sheffield United] is there,” the City boss added. “They stick together, fight, complain about decisions – when you see a team like that you know always how difficult it will be.

“Today we concede few and did not create much, but I give credit to the opponent. It wasn’t because we weren’t good. I am more than pleased.”

Manchester City maintain their position at the top of the Premier League with the win on Saturday. Now, the face Burnley next before facing Liverpool next in a very important title-fight this term.
