Following a £5 million agreement between the two teams for the right-back, who will sign a two-year contract at Turf Moor, Kyle Walker is set to make an unexpected transfer from Manchester City to Burnley.

The 35-year-old England player, who played with Scott Parker at Tottenham and spent the second part of the previous season on loan at Milan, will see his old teammate again after he has finished a medical. After being promoted from the Championship, Burnley has been looking to acquire Premier League expertise in the transfer market in an effort to stay in the top division.

Walker has been itching to return to the northwest after his six months in Italy, and the transfer to Burnley will enable him to do so. Walker wanted to live near his family, but he got interest from all across the world. Walker was eventually enticed to Burnley, despite Everton’s prior interest in recruiting the defender.

Kyle Walker making shock Premier League transfer

Walker is approaching the end of his City contract; he ended the previous season on loan at AC Milan, despite having started as the team’s captain. Due to significant turmoil at San Siro, the Serie A team chose not to exercise their option to make his move permanent, even though it had been anticipated that he would sign a permanent contract with the Rossoneri.

He is now scheduled to return to Turf Moor, where he will meet up with Burnley manager Scott Parker. Walker played alongside Parker at Tottenham from 2011 to 2013. The relocation might be finished this weekend.

As then-manager Vincent Kompany concentrated on acquiring young players with promise, Burnley was severely short in experience during their final season in the Premier League. His presence would provide them with much-needed expertise. They were promptly demoted back to the Championship after it failed, although Kompany was duly acquired by Bayern Munich.
