Cancelo signed a new contract with Man City which will expire in 2027.

Manchester City star Joao Cancelo believes that he initially regretted moving to Manchester City from Juventus.

The defender was signed from the Serie A giants in the summer of 2019. He struggled to get a regular place into Pep Guardiola’s first team.

He has since made a spot in the starting line-up his own. He played as either a right-back or left-back. Cancelo signed a new contract which will expire in 2027.

He said to the club’s official website, “In my first months, I wasn’t extremely happy about my decision to join Manchester City.

“I came from a club that I also like a lot, Juventus. I spoke to my girlfriend, and we agreed that I had to make the best out of myself to be able to play.

“As of December-January onwards, I started playing regularly so that makes a player happier. We players always want to play, but always with the aim of helping the team to achieve its goals.”
