In a passionate message to River Plate, Claudio Echeverri posted on his official Instagram account. He wrote in his post: “I have to bid farewell to the club of my life, which I joined with many ambitions at a very young age. As the club that shaped me as a person and a professional, River became my second home. The supporters, teammates, employees, managers, and anyone who has worked for the club over the years deserve my gratitude.

In January 2024, the English champions acquired the 18-year-old playmaker from River Plate, allowing the Buenos Aires-based team to loan him to them until the end of the season. After playing in the team’s year-ending match against Racing Club on December 15, the 18-year-old has now paid a heartfelt homage to his boyhood club before joining the Premier League.
The young player will be registered with City’s first team squad as soon as possible after going through a terrible run in the past two months. In 41 games during the 2024–25 season, Echeverri scored four goals and contributed six assists for River Plate. Guardiola’s team will play Everton at Etihad Stadium on Boxing Day in an attempt to resume winning ways.
