Crystal Palace are prepared to entertain bids below Eberechi Eze’s £68million release clause this summer, sources have revealed to Football Insider.

Crystal Palace could cash in on Eze for less than release clause

The 26-year-old attacking midfielder has emerged as a top target for several Premier League giants, with Manchester City now leading the chase.

Tottenham and Manchester United are also monitoring his situation closely ahead of a potentially busy transfer window.

Eze’s release clause, which becomes active again later this summer, was expected to spark interest last year, but Palace were left surprised by the lack of serious offers.

This time around, the club are more open to negotiations and could sanction a cut-price deal — especially if favourable payment terms are included.

Palace boss Oliver Glasner is keen to reinvest and reshape his squad, and offloading Eze could unlock valuable funds. The club are also open to offers for centre-back Marc Guehi, whose contract expires in 2026, a year earlier than Eze’s 2027 deal.

Eze has been in sensational form during the 2024-25 campaign, racking up 12 goals and 11 assists in 40 appearances across all competitions.

His recent run of five goals in four games has only strengthened his case for a big summer move, especially with the FA Cup final against Man City looming large on 17 May.

An England international with 10 caps, Eze played a key role at the 2024 European Championships and is now widely seen as one of the Premier League’s most technically gifted midfielders.

At 26, he’s entering the prime of his career, making him an attractive proposition for elite clubs aiming to bolster their creative options.

Meanwhile, Palace face another setback as promising winger Jesse Derry, 17, is set to leave the club after rejecting a professional contract.

European giants PSG, RB Leipzig, and Atletico Madrid are all circling, and the Eagles will receive only minimal compensation for the highly-rated youngster.

With major changes on the horizon, Palace’s summer looks set to be one of transition — and Eze’s future could be the first domino to fall.
