Everton have reached a full agreement with Manchester City to bring Jack Grealish back to Merseyside on a season-long loan, securing the England winger for a second consecutive campaign at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The 30-year-old is scheduled to undergo his medical on Tuesday morning as David Moyes’ side races to complete the deal before the 11pm transfer deadline.
Everton will cover up to 90 per cent of Grealish’s substantial wages at the Etihad, a financial commitment that proved decisive in fending off late interest from Premier League rivals including Sunderland.
Grealish’s return marks a significant coup for the Toffees, who initially declined to trigger a £50 million permanent option earlier in the summer due to financial constraints.
However, patient negotiations between the clubs paved the way for another temporary arrangement.
The forward spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Everton, establishing himself as a key figure on the left flank.
In 22 appearances, he contributed two goals and six assists, impressing with his ball retention, direct running and creative vision.
Although a foot injury sustained in January cut his campaign short, Grealish made a lasting impression on the squad and made it his priority to return this summer.
Grealish joined Manchester City in 2021 for a then club-record £100 million and won three Premier League titles, a maiden UEFA Champions League trophy, an FA Cup and a Carabao Cup during his time at the Etihad.
He played a pivotal role in City’s historic 2022/23 treble-winning season, scoring vital goals against Arsenal and Liverpool while starting every Champions League knockout tie en route to a 1-0 final victory over Inter Milan in Istanbul.
With the 30-year-old entering the final year of his contract at Manchester City, the loan guarantees him regular first-team minutes as he aims to regain form and stake a claim for England selection.
The deal also allows City to clear squad space and manage their wage bill. Meanwhile, the two clubs have finalised Iliman Ndiaye’s £65 million move to Manchester City as part of a busy transfer window for both sides.
