Everton are unable to meet Man City’s valuation. Still, they want Phillips to sign on a loan deal.
Man City midfielder Kalvin Phillips is on the radar of rival Premier League clubs. Everton joins the race along with Aston Villa to get the signature of the Englishman. The Toffees are ahead in the race.
The 28-year-old is leaving the club this summer and finding new challenges in the Premier League. He started just two of his 12 Premier League appearances in his first season under Pep Guardiola. He failed to feature in the starting lineup of any Premier League game in the first half of the 2023-24 season.
Phillips went on to experience a disappointing loan spell with West Ham United in the second half of last season. The former Leeds man was restricted to just three starts in 10 Premier League appearances.
Phillips is not in Pep Guardiola’s future plan and he is not considering the England international in pre-season. He is also linked with Roma, Galatasaray, RB Leipzig and Red Bull Salzburg.

According to Football Insider, Everton are leading Aston Villa in the race to sign the Three Lions midfielder from Man City this summer. However, Everton are unable to meet Man City’s valuation. Still, they want him to sign on a loan deal.
Everton are considering Phillips as an ideal replacement for Amadou Onana who departed for Aston Villa earlier this summer. Sean Dyche’s current central-midfield options are Iroegbunam, Idrissa Gueye, Abdoulaye Doucoure and James Garner. Phillips can add big value to his midfield section.
