Everyone Happy With Pep Guardiola Staying - Manchester City Chief

Manchester City sports chief Txiki Begiristain is happy to see Pep Guardiola extend his contract.

There were heavy rumours last summer that this season could have been Pep’s last at the Etihad.

Barcelona were openly interested in resigning him to the hot seat once again. Guardiola already has crossed his record of four years with one club. Now, he is in his fifth as a Cityzen and the club is delighted.

Begiristain said, “Pep is really happy and we are happy with his commitment for the next two years. He works very hard and just thinks about how to beat the next opponents. I am happy to see him working with us.”

City have not enjoyed an auspicious start to the campaign, struggling in the Premier League to put up wins. But they did overturn their lack of scoring threat by putting 5 goals past Burnley on Saturday.

Guardiola has won two Premier League titles since his arrival at Manchester and two FA Cups, three League Cups and two Community Shields. He is yet to guide City to a Champions League trophy and fans hope he can do that over the next three years.
