Haaland has no immediate plans to leave City amid interest from Madrid

Erling Haaland, Manchester City and Norway’s talisman, has developed a penchant for breaking weird goalscoring records over the years, and his goalscoring exploits have sometimes resulted in bizarre statistics. Pep Guardiola’s team just defeated Fulham in a nine-goal thriller, and the 25-year-old recorded yet another ridiculous number that seems almost unreal.

Haaland became the quickest player in Premier League history to score 100 goals against Marco Silva’s Cottagers, but his achievement was nearly tarnished when Fulham (almost!) rallied from 5-1 down in the 54th minute. Alex Iwobi’s goal and Samuel Chukwueze’s brace nearly rounded up one of the greatest comebacks in Premier League history.

Unfortunately, the match was all about the Leeds-born striker and how absolutely freakish he has been in front of goal since leaving Borussia Dortmund for City in the summer of 2022 – but the statistic in issue was not about his goal-scoring heroics. Instead, because of his ability to deceive opponents, he is caught offside.

Man City’s Haaland becomes fastest player to 100 Premier League goals

Haaland, whose father, Alf-Inge, was watching from the stands at Craven Cottage, said the occasion was memorable. “Proud moment, 100 club is a huge thing,” he tweeted. “To do it so soon is incredible. I’m proud and delighted.

“I’ve stated it several times: City’s striker should score a lot of goals. it is my job, and it is what I attempt to accomplish. And I am not awful at it! I should have had a hat trick; I had several opportunities. “I need to practise.”

The Norwegian, who leads the league with 15 goals this season, had been stuck at 99 for two games, wasting opportunities against Newcastle United and Leeds United, but he was unstoppable this time. With City still seeking silverware, his drive for goals shows no signs of waning.

Erling Haaland of Manchester City became the quickest Premier League player to achieve 100 goals with a stunning left-footed shot in the 17th minute of Tuesday’s dramatic 5-4 victory against Fulham.
