Erling Haaland is still questionable for this weekend’s match between Manchester City and Liverpool

The Premier League’s leading scorer was noticeably absent when the league champions released a collection of images from their most recent training exercise on Thursday.

Due to a groyne injury, the 22-year-old withdrew from the Norway team for their most recent Euro 2024 qualifying matches against Spain and Georgia. Since his father, the former City player Alf-Inge, was cited by Norwegian TV as saying his son had gone to Barcelona for treatment, there have been no official updates on his condition.

Haaland, who allegedly left Manchester earlier this week, was not visible in any of the pictures City shared online in a gallery from Thursday’s training session. That has increased rumours about his fitness for Saturday’s pivotal matchup at the Etihad Stadium against Jurgen Klopp’s team.

Despite having a game in hand, City is presently eight points behind Arsenal in the standings. When he gives a press conference to preview the game on Friday, manager Pep Guardiola is probably going to provide more details.

Haaland had a productive first season in England, scoring 42 goals overall and 28 goals in the Premier League. Phil Foden, a midfielder for England, endured appendix surgery last weekend, so Foden won’t be playing for City.
