James McAtee is being pursued by four teams this summer, and Manchester City intends to accept a £25 million bid. At the Etihad Stadium, the 22-year-old has fallen in the hierarchy due to the recent additions of Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki.

Football Insider said on July 2 that McAtee prioritizes playing for the first team and wants to leave Man City for his own growth. A number of Bundesliga clubs have expressed interest in the midfield player, and Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest are reportedly eager to sign him.

After leading England’s Under-21 team to the European Championships trophy this summer, McAtee, who has a year left on his contract, has already experienced success.

Football Insider was exclusively informed by former Man City financial consultant Stefan Borson that the team will accept a £25 million bid for their academy product. Last season, McAtee made 27 appearances and scored seven goals for Pep Guardiola’s team, starting just nine of them.

James McAtee set to leave Manchester City

Borson said that any deal Man City makes for McAtee this summer may include a buy-back clause. “I think City are realistic about his fee because he’s in the final year of his contract,” he told Football Insider.

In addition to longtime supporters Bayer Leverkusen, RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Stuttgart have entered the contest to lure McAtee to Germany. McAtee is seen by the aforementioned teams as a dynamic midfield player who can provide their teams more originality and adaptability.

Given its reputation for continuously nurturing young talent, McAtee is likely to find the Bundesliga to be an alluring option. Since any agreement to remove him from the Etihad Stadium is anticipated to include a buyback mechanism, his likely exit is not the result of his current employers not trusting him.
