John Stones has made his long-awaited return from injury.
The England international had a good start to the season and starred in Pep Guardiola’s XI ahead of Ruben Dias and Aymeric Laporte.
But his hamstring injury sidelined him for over a month and miss a number of crucial games.
Aymeric Laporte is expected to leave this summer window after falling down the pecking order at City.
Stones’ contract with the Cityzens expires in the summer of 2026 and he has no intention to leave the Etihad Stadium.
“I absolutely love it here (at Manchester City),” said Stones. “I’d love to play as long as I can and I really do feel like it’s my home. I really do love everything about it: the people I see day in day out, the fans, my team-mates and I’ve got my best memories in football.”
He continued, “I’ve got a lot of memories but yeah, I absolutely love it. I’d love to play as long as I can definitely, if the club allows me.”
