Jurgen Klopp takes a dig at Man City's transfer business

Man City has only purchased Jack Grealish in this summer window.

The Cityzens broke the British transfer record to sign Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish for £100m.

Their interest in Tottenham’s Harry Kane has also been well-documented.

Other Premier League clubs such as Chelsea, Arsenal and Man United have also spent above £100m in this summer window.

But Klopp was asked about the spending nature of City and PSG in the transfer market.

“You can only play with eleven,” Klopp said to Bild when asked about City’s and PSG’s spending power.

“It’s not about who has the eleven best or most spectacular players on the field, but who makes the best of what they have together. Who makes the best of their opportunities? That is not unfair, it is just the topicality. A squad has to work.

“It’s not that much fun when you have 40 players and 22 of them are not in a good mood any weekend. With us, all players have a right to exist and are very satisfied. But bringing in players just doesn’t make sense.”
