Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva has received a lucrative offer to move to Saudi Arabia when his contract expires at the end of the season, according to former Everton and Aston Villa chief executive Keith Wyness.
Bernardo Silva Set to Snub Juventus? Saudi Clubs Circle with Mega Offer
The 31-year-old Portugal international’s current deal at the Etihad Stadium runs out this summer, and he has also attracted interest from Italian club Juventus.
Wyness, who now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs, believes Silva will depart City after nine trophy-filled years.
Silva recently captained Manchester City to Carabao Cup glory against Arsenal, securing his 15th trophy with the club.
He has made 449 appearances across all competitions, scoring 76 goals and providing 77 assists during his spell in Manchester.
Speaking on the Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness praised Silva’s performance in the cup final but suggested the fan favorite is unlikely to stay.
“I thought he was one of the key players at the weekend,” Wyness said.
“I think there would be a lot of fans who would love to see him stay, but I don’t believe he is going to. I think Silva is off.”
Wyness identified Italy as a possible destination, with Juventus emerging as a serious contender. However, he confirmed that Silva has also received a significant financial proposal from Saudi Arabia.
“I do think Italy could well be the route,” Wyness added.
“Juventus certainly could be the ones that pick him up. I know he has also had a lucrative offer from Saudi as well.”
Silva’s departure would mark the end of an era at Manchester City, where he has established himself as one of the Premier League’s most consistent and versatile midfielders.
His exit could form part of a larger squad overhaul, with teammates John Stones and Nathan Ake also facing uncertain futures and manager Pep Guardiola’s long-term plans remaining unclear.
Meanwhile, Silva has been linked with a sentimental return to former club Benfica, though Saudi Arabia and Juventus now appear to be the front-runners for his signature.
