De Bruyne’s current deal is set to last until June 2023 but he could secure a deal for longer. Of course, that should come with a bump in his pay as well, seeing as how he is one of the world’s very best in his position.
The Belgian has publicly stated how he is happy at Manchester and would like to extend his stay. Previous reports even claimed that he is negotiating without an agent and all on his own.
Relationship between both parties is clearly solid. Pep Guardiola’s three-year contract extension has also given De Bruyne enough incentive to trust his City future. He is 29 years old and at the prime of his career. Hopefully, he will see the club through more silverware and the auspicious Champions League trophy.
