According to a report that has exposed Daniel Levy, the chairman of Tottenham Hotspur’s decision regarding the right-back’s future, Manchester City is interested in signing Pedro Porro during the summer transfer window.
According to Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur has set a price of £50 million for right-back Pedro Porro in response to increased interest from Manchester City. In search of a long-term replacement for Kyle Walker, Man City is considering a transfer for Porro, a former player who is excelling for Ange Postecoglou’s team this year.
In order to make room for Djed Spence to take over at right-back, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is willing to sell Porro if the £50 million asking price is reached. Tottenham has reportedly had Porro valued at £80 million at one point, although this has changed over time.
However, interested clubs may find the current £50 million price tag to be more affordable. The research predicts that negotiations between the clubs will be difficult.
Man City want to invest more money in the squad
Porro’s efforts for Tottenham this season have impressed Man City, who have since followed his development. Spanish and European powerhouse Real Madrid has also expressed interest in the 25-year-old right-back for Spain, according to Dejan Kulusevski, a colleague at Tottenham.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has personally chosen to sell Porro during the summer transfer season, according to TBR. In 46 games across all competitions this season, the 25-year-old right-back has three goals and eight assists. Spurs would cash in on the player if they received an offer of £50 million or more. Porro’s future is in doubt since Djed Spence, who performed well at left-back this season, could start at right-back now that Destiny Udogie is healthy.
According to the report, Tottenham is willing to sell Porro for at least £50 million because they consider Spence to be their first-choice right-back. Porro, who paid Tottenham £40 million in transfer fees, has made 100 appearances for the Premier League team thus far, contributing 10 goals and 19 assists.
