According to sources, Manchester City is prepared to spend a record-breaking price to get one of its top targets this summer. Following a wave of summer additions, City added Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guehi from Bournemouth and Crystal Palace, respectively, to their roster during the January transfer window.

The two have improved Pep Guardiola’s team and moved them closer to Arsenal in the hunt for the Premier League crown. However, it seems that City is still trying to get a full-back from Newcastle, Tino Livramento, in order to maintain their Premier League shopping.

Graeme Bailey of TEAMTalk claims that after being pleased by Livramento’s performances, City has been after him since last summer. Magpies. They think he may be Kyle Walker’s long-term replacement because of his speed and vigour.

At City, Matheus Nunes has developed into a superb right-back who has taken over the position. But Livramento, who can also play left back, where Nico O’Reilly had been filling in until Rayan Ait-Nouri settled in, is regarded as a major improvement.

Man City ready to break world record to sign Newcastle star

According to sources, Newcastle would demand £70 million for Livramento if he were to depart; nonetheless, the price would almost certainly set a global record. City is prepared to test the boundaries at full-back as well, having previously set a global record for the most expensive centre-back (Josko Gvardiol).

Matheus Nunes, a midfielder when he first joined the team from Wolves, has mostly filled the right-back position thus far this season. Although he can also play in midfield, Rico Lewis is another possibility to play right-back for City.

According to reports, City thinks they are in a strong position to complete a move for Elliot Anderson this summer. Anderson, a former Newcastle prospect who is now at Nottingham Forest, is a top target for Manchester United as well. However, City wants to win the competition for his services while remaining flexible enough to let go of two important players.
