City may have to pay up the player’s £70 million release clause if they want to see Oyarzabal at Etihad Stadium.
Manchester City are showing good interest in Real Sociedad winger Mikel Oyarzabal. La Liga player is going through an impressive form. He scored 11 goals in the last La Liga season and registered 8 assists from 33 appearances. Premier League club even made a move last year for this player but it was pushed back by Real Sociedad.
As per the reports of TEAMtalk, Man City boss Pep Guardiola admires Oyarzabal, and first wanted to sign the 24-year-old winger when City sold Leroy Sane to Bayern Munich. Real Sociedad attacker is versatile, quick, and can play across the front line for a team such as City.
Some other source suggests that City may have to pay up the player’s £70 million release clause if they want to see Oyarzabal at Etihad Stadium in next summer.
Pep Guardiola’s side will first have to sell at least one player before bidding for the Sociedad attacker. At present. Man City has Raheem Sterling, Phil Foden, Riyad Mahrez, Gabriel Jesus and Ferran Torres playing in the wing. One player has to make a way for the 24-year-old winger. Raheem Sterling may leave Man City this summer. Sterling’s contract expires in the summer of 2023 and has just one goal to his name this season.
