Manchester City vs West Ham Head to Head

According to Fichajes, Manchester City is apparently considering making a daring January bid for Mohammed Kudus, a star for West Ham United. Given his flexibility and potential, Kudus is a fascinating target for Pep Guardiola’s team as they look for long-term options for a future without Kevin de Bruyne. However, difficulties with priority and valuation could prevent a transfer right away.

The rumor that Florian Wirtz, another candidate for the role, is nearing a contract deal with the Bundesliga team, Bayer Leverkusen, coincides with City’s interest. Guardiola’s eyes have therefore shifted to Kudus. He is said to be highly valued by the Premier League winners, who are willing to pay €80 million (£66.3 million) to acquire him because they think he has “incredible potential.”

Currently, City appears to have other priorities for the January timeframe. Guardiola’s worrying nine-loss record in 12 games suggests that adding a defensive player to the midfield should come first. Atalanta players Ederson, Adam Wharton, and Joshua Kimmich have been mentioned as promising choices. The need to get an all-around midfielder like Kudus could spur the deal if Gundogan leaves. Even though the Ghanaian might not don the sky blue in January, City’s desire is a definite indication that they want to strengthen their team going forward.

Guardiola’s current search for a defensive midfield player makes perfect sense, especially now that Rodri is out with an injury. However, given that his release clause becomes significant, City may decide to give Kudus another look in the summer of 2025. Although Kudus is still a target on their radar, the Premier League winners are probably going to put their midfield overhaul on hold for the time being.
