The most recent information on Manchester City’s 115 charges case has surfaced in a report. Man City faces 115 allegations for allegedly breaking Premier League financial regulations. It has been more than three years since the league declared that Pep Guardiola’s side will face charges for allegedly violating many regulations pertaining to financial misconduct from 2009 to 2018.

If Man City is found guilty, they might be expelled from England’s top flight or have the titles they won during the nine-year period taken away from them. Man City has vehemently denied any wrongdoing throughout the whole saga. There has even been talk of deducting record points.

The Athletic reports that sources on both sides of the dispute have not heard anything new about the timeframes from the independent panel. They talked “anonymously because they are not authorised to comment publicly on the proceedings”, according to the newspaper.

“It is unclear whether they will recommend any potential punishment or merely decide the question of guilt,” they say, adding that “it is also not known whether that potential punishment would be suspended until after any appeal, itself likely to be at least a year-long timeline.”

Premier League quietly dropped Man City’s 115 charges punishment.

In December 2024, the hearing about City’s purported violations of the Premier League’s financial regulations came to an end. The independent panel had a 12-week hearing, but it has not yet released its findings.

Over a nine-year span, the city was charged with 115 financial regulation violations. Throughout the whole process, the club has insisted on its innocence.

54 instances of inaccurate financial information from 2009–10 to 2017–18 were included in the charges, along with inaccurate information on player and management payments over the same time frame. If City are found guilty of some of the more serious allegations against them, it is said that they might lose 40 to 60 points.

Football finance expert Kieran Maguire said, “If we take a look at precedents, we’ve had Everton and Nottingham Forest with six- and four-point deductions for a single offence covering a three-year period.

“It’s far more extensive because the charges against Manchester City span nine years. We’re not sure how much money is involved, but it’s probably going to be substantial.
