Divin Mubama of West Ham has agreed to personal terms with Man City after the club hijacked his move to Portugal, sources have told Football Insider. Although West Ham made him an offer for additional terms, the striker’s contract at the London Stadium expired at the end of June, making him a free agent.

A comprehensive agreement has finally been reached by all parties, with City and West Ham agreeing to a compensation sum of about £1.5 million. Before City made a move, 19-year-old Mubama was scheduled to sign with Portuguese team Famalicao. This comes after new signing Savinho was hit in the knee during the 2-0 victory over Chelsea, and Oscar Bobb broke his leg during training.

Man City hijacks deal for Premier League striker

Fans were dissatisfied with the short game duration, which probably affected his choice to look into other possibilities. Obama didn’t make many appearances, but his skill was recognized. Numerous elite teams throughout Europe expressed interest in him as a result of his outstanding performances for West Ham’s academy, especially as the team’s leading scorer during their 2023 FA Youth Cup victory.

Manchester City grabbed the chance to bring the forward to the Etihad, as they are well-known for having a sharp eye for youthful potential. Mubama intends to push his career to the next level with this move. Despite his youth, he is anticipated to sign with Pep Guardiola’s team right away and has a good chance of making the starting line-up.

He is considered a future star by City’s recruitment team, and given the current injury concerns, he might become well-known sooner rather than later.
