According to reports, Manchester City and Arsenal are both interested in the same defender as the January transfer window draws near.

The major clubs in Europe are now focusing on possible business in January, even though the summer transfer window is officially over. The Premier League is showing increasing interest in a number of players, including Nathaniel Brown, a 22-year-old left-back who is now at Eintracht Frankfurt.

After joining from Nuremberg in January 2024, the German-American has become one of the Bundesliga’s most dependable players in his role. With one goal and one assist in his first five games of the current season, he has already made 33 appearances last season, scoring three goals and dishing out seven assists.

Manchester City, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Manchester United, and Arsenal are already keeping a close eye on Brown, who can play as a wing-back or a classic left-back, according to Caught Offside. The only natural left-back in Manchester City’s roster at the moment is Rayan Ait-Nouri, who is currently injured.

Brown has a contract with Frankfurt through 2030 and has made a name for himself as a dependable member of the backline. Although it’s still unclear if his long-term contract has a release clause, if it doesn’t, Frankfurt may be in a good position to dictate terms in any future discussions.

Financially speaking, Brown’s current compensation deal is still rather reasonable by Premier League standards. Because of this, he is a desirable option for both short-term fixes and long-term investments, especially for teams trying to increase depth without changing their pay scales.

Brown is now firmly on the radar of some of the top teams in England thanks to his rising reputation. One thing is certain: given his skill and adaptability, Brown is set to advance to one of Europe’s top leagues sooner rather than later, regardless of whether Frankfurt chooses to cash in on its budding star.
