Man City interested in West Ham's Lucas Paqueta

According to sources who spoke to Football Insider, Man City is preparing a new bid for Lucas Paqueta two years after his last deal fell through. After being cleared by an FA betting probe over two years after an examination into a sequence of yellow cards, the 27-year-old Brazilian is once again on City’s radar.

Pep Guardiola’s team was prepared to sign him at the moment, and an £85 million release clause was scheduled to go into effect in June 2023. The club’s officials were expecting a second proposal after West Ham turned down their initial offer of £70 million. Because of the FA probe, that never happened.

Graham Potter is trying to reassemble the team this summer, and he has already spent just £19 million on Daniel Cummings, Kyle Walker-Peters, and El Hadji Malick Diouf [BBC Sport].

Additionally, Mick Brown stated in an exclusive interview with Football Insider that West Ham intends to accept a £30 million bid for Paqueta once he is exonerated of the accusations against him.

Man City given green light to complete long-awaited Lucas Paqueta deal

A new story from Ge Globo claims that Manchester City has formally told West Ham that they are still very interested in acquiring Lucas Paquetá this summer.

In 2023, the Hammers rejected a proposal of almost £70 million from City. Although a second, bigger offer was anticipated, the deal fell through after Paquetá became embroiled in a betting probe.

Now that that ordeal is over and the Brazil international has been exonerated of any wrongdoing, Pep Guardiola’s team is reportedly showing renewed interest in Paquetá.

Although there hasn’t been an official offer yet, Ge claims that West Ham is prepared for one and has stated that they won’t let go of the 26-year-old until they get a price range of £50-£60 million, including bonuses.

It would be awful to lose Paquetá. Flamengo manager Felipe Luís, a lifelong Flamengo supporter who recently said that he would love to see Paquetá return to Brazil, recently called him “quality.” He has been much more than that for West Ham, serving as both a game-changer in the final third and the midfield’s beating heart.
