Rodrygo

Manchester City is the finest English team to sign Rodrygo from Real Madrid, supposedly, and Liverpool is no longer a possibility. It was with Santos that Rodrygo made his breakthrough, going on to score 17 goals and dole out eight assists in 80 appearances for the storied Brazilian team before joining Real Madrid in July 2019. In June 2018, Madrid paid Santos €45 million to acquire the attacker, according to the terms of the original agreement.

Mundo Deportivo reports that Real Madrid is willing to pay €120 million (£102 million) for their winger Rodrygo. According to a report from Marca, City was apparently interested in signing Rodrygo back in May.

An update on the winger’s condition was given in response to this claim in a recent report from Football Transfers. According to ESPN, Carlo Ancelotti called the player “spectacular” in May of last year.

Real Madrid do not expect Man City to make a move

Mario Cortegana of The Athletic claims, though, that Real Madrid does not anticipate Manchester City making a summer transfer bid for Rodrygo. The reason for this is because both Real Madrid and the player plan to stay together going forward and are not thinking about splitting up.

Ancelotti was able to assemble all four players, Mbappe, Vini Jr., Rodrygo, and Jude Bellingham, into one squad for the UEFA Super Cup victory over Atalanta. Rodrygo’s playing time may still be reduced, though, as Mbappe hopes to take over as the team’s new talisman.

However, The Athletic has now provided a noteworthy update regarding the forward’s future. Based on their earlier communication with Rodrygo’s entourage this year, they claim Man City is actually in a much stronger position to sign him.
