Southampton are likely to announce the permanent signing of Manchester City academy graduate Romeo Lavia. It’s a deal worth a potential £14 million.
Manchester City are maintaining several clauses that could benefit them in the future.
There were some reports that two clubs had agreed on a deal worth around £10 million for the holding midfielder – however, it became apparent in the days that followed that the sides had actually agreed on a £14 million deal.
Manchester Evening News reported that the Premier League champions are set to bank an initial £10.5 million, with potential bonuses of £3.5 million for the 18-year-old.
Lavia was signed from Anderlecht two years ago and went on to impress immensely within the Elite Development Squad and has featured in Guardiola’s senior matchday squads on a number of occasions.
