Man City join the race for Chelsea Defender Rudiger

Rudiger has been a standout performer for Chelsea over the past 12 months.

The renowned journalist Gianluca di Marzio mentioned in his recent interview with Wetten Freunde that City are running for Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger.

Marzio said, “Rüdiger is in talks with Juventus, Man City, Tottenham and even PSG, who still need a defender. It’s difficult to see him signing a new contract. He will join one of the four teams mentioned.”

Rudiger has been a standout performer for Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea over the past 12 months and won the Champions League title during the period. The 28-year-old star scored one goal and one assist in 12 matches for the Blues this season.

The German international is a tough-tackling central defender who would be a good choice for Man City in particular position. Rudiger’s addition to the City will be a big boost to Pep Guardiola‘s defence.

His contract at Stamford Bridge will expire at the end of this campaign. The Mancunian giants would arrange a cut-price move for the 28-year-old star in January. The City may sign him as a free agent next summer.
