Rodri’s contract will expire in three years and his club are keen to offer the midfielder a bumper new deal.
Manchester City midfielder Rodri is linked with Real Madrid and he has now given an update on his future. The 28-year-old is one of the finest midfielders and won all major trophies in England.
Rodri joined Man City in the summer of 2019 from Atletico Madrid. He has made 258 appearances for the Premier League winners across all competitions, scoring 26 goals and providing 30 assists.
The Spain international has won 11 trophies including four Premier League titles and one Champions League. He was a standout performer in Euro 2024 where he won the Player of the Tournament award.
Rodri has also been nominated for the 2024 Ballon d’Or and is considered among the favourites to receive the prize. City’s No.16 made his first appearance of the season as a substitute in last weekend’s 2-1 Premier League win over Brentford.
Rodri’s contract will expire in three years and his club are keen to offer the midfielder a bumper new deal. Rodri speaks out on his future via Man City’s official YouTube channel, “I have three more years at Man City and when I sign the contract I don’t think of other teams. So I have three more years at Man City, and nothing more to say”.
The 28-year-old added: “Nothing much to say. I have, with this three more years at City and when I signed the contract, I don’t think of other teams, I just think of finishing. So yeah, I have a contract with City, nothing else to say.”
