According to FootballTransfers, Manchester City is giving serious thought to matching Crystal Palace’s asking price for Eberechie Eze. In light of Julian Alvarez’s upcoming club record transfer to Atletico Madrid, Pep Guardiola and colleagues are surveying the market.
Man City will receive a healthy price of up to €95 million for the Argentine, but they will also have fewer options going forward since Erling Haaland is the sole recognised No. 9. There seems to be some misunderstanding over Eze’s role and prospects at Crystal Palace.
The England player is rumoured to have a release clause worth roughly €70 million, although FootballTransfers has already shown that this is not entirely accurate. Rather, Eze and Palace have a gentleman’s agreement that says he can leave the team for a price in the €70 million range.
Man City seriously considering Eberechi Eze transfer
Eberechi Eze finished the previous season with 11 goals and 6 assists across all competitions. The Premier League champions find him to be a desirable prospect due to his versatility. According to the report, City is prepared to activate his release clause.
At €80 million, Palace will be eager to cash in on Eze, who played for England at the 2024 European Championship. Manchester City has the financial means to cover the remaining costs. Eze, a flexible midfielder who can play in midfield and all over the front line, would replace Alvarez and former captain Ilkay Gundogan, whose spot has been difficult for Matheus Nunes to fill.
