In the winter transfer window, Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi is allegedly a target for Manchester City. In order to outbid Arsenal and Liverpool for Marc Guehi’s signing, Manchester City is reportedly willing to pay him £200,000 a week. The 25-year-old has been connected to many teams this month and his contract expires at the end of the current campaign.

In January, the Englishman may be available for a fair price. Alternatively, teams might hold out on signing him for free until the summer transfer window. During the summer transfer window, he came dangerously close to joining Liverpool, but the deal ultimately fell through. Now, Manchester City wants to sign him this month.

The Citizens’ defence unit needs more depth and talent. He would be a great improvement over guys like John Stones and Nathan Ake. Without a doubt, the captain of Crystal Palace would be a great addition because he has demonstrated his abilities in the Premier League. Whether Manchester City can prevail in the competition to get him is still up in the air.

Man City are preparing their opening bid for Crystal Palace defender

Alex Crook of talkSPORT reports that Manchester City is thinking of making a formal proposal for Guehi of Crystal Palace; however, it won’t go as high as the south London club’s estimate of over £35 million.

However, rivals Liverpool, who had a contract negotiated for Guehi last summer, do not intend to make a bid this month, but Viana is ready to make an offer between now and the January transfer market closing.

According to reports, Guehi is looking for a weekly salary of almost £200,000, but Anfield believes that the overall cost of a package for the England international is prohibitive.

Because Stones and Ake are unreliable substitutes, City is eager to strengthen its defenders this month. If City decides to move on to other defensive targets, Viana and company will want a prompt answer from Guehi and Crystal Palace as soon as possible. Recalling Vitor Reis from his loan at Girona is another option, but there is currently no sign that this would happen.
