To repel Real Madrid’s interest, Manchester City is allegedly willing to extend a record deal to Phil Foden. Despite just turning 24 at the end of last month, Foden has already made 270 competitive appearances for the Citizens.
Phil Foden will allegedly receive a record-breaking new deal from Premier League winners Manchester City, paying an incredible £375,000 per week, making him the highest-paid British footballer of all time. The 24-year-old England international will become one of the most paid players in the world of football with the new contract, with his weekly wages expected to surpass those of his current colleagues, Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland.
Man City ‘are ready to offer Phil Foden £375,000-per-week’ after Euro 2024
The England playmaker signed a lucrative three-year contract on Friday, 48 hours before a pivotal Premier League matchup with Liverpool at Anfield, extending his stay at the Etihad Stadium until the summer of 2027. The new contract is estimated to be worth around £55 million overall. Foden’s pay is expected to increase from £40,000 to £225,000 per week.
However, City is eager to give him credit for a fantastic season and upsetting Real Madrid and company. Foden, 24, receives incentives of about £200,000, but the Sun claims that his wage increase will put him on level with Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne.
The Etihad Academy product was the star of City’s four-game winning streak in the top flight, which culminated in his awards as FWA and Premier League Player of the Year.
