Guardiola delighted with Man City's victory over PSG

It has been revealed that Manchester City has reached an agreement to sign 18-year-old Mahamadou Sangare, a striker for Paris Saint-Germain. Playing at the Under-19 level, Sangare, who turned 18 in March, has scored 42 goals in 46 games for PSG’s minor teams. He hasn’t yet appeared in a matchday squad despite being welcomed into senior training in December.

According to Fabrizio Romano, City has reached an agreement to bring Sangare to the Etihad Stadium in the summer, even though his contract expires then.

Chelsea and Manchester United are among the Premier League teams with which Sangare has been linked, but Pep Guardiola’s City will be the ones to sign the French youth international at the end of the current campaign.

The City has previously selected a young player from PSG’s academy. Before being moved to Palermo in 2022, defensive midfielder Claudio Gomes joined on a free transfer in 2018 but was never able to make it to the senior squad.

Romano Confirms Man City are Set to Sign 42-Goal PSG Forward

“Manchester City has agreed to a deal to sign 18-year-old Mahamadou Sangare, a striker for Paris Saint-Germain,” Romano confirmed. It’s no secret that Manchester City wants to rule football at every level. There is a noticeable and intentional push to invest in the future generation of top talent, even though they are still focused on Pep Guardiola’s first-team success right now.

Sangare is one of the increasing number of young people that City has targeted in recent years. Claudio Gomes, a 2018 free agent and former PSG youth player, is one example. Despite Gomes’ failure to establish himself in the senior squad and subsequent transfer to Palermo in 2022, the trend demonstrates City’s readiness to take measured chances on youthful talent.

The fact that City is apparently planning to sign 15-year-old Cavan Sullivan from Philadelphia Union further demonstrates how comprehensive and long-term their youth recruitment approach is. The elite of Europe have taken notice of him even though he hasn’t made a professional start for PSG, and City’s quick decision could turn out to be a brilliant move.
