Journalist Marcos Benito of El Chiringuito TV has revealed that defensive stalwart and Barcelona captain Ronald Araujo is reportedly in the running for three Premier League bids. According to him, City and Newcastle United are pursuing Ronald Araujo, whom Barcelona is having problems re-signing and who would cost €120 million (£101 million) in transfer fees to be sold this summer.
The City is aware that talks for a new contract with Barca are on hold, and they have reached out to Araujo’s agent, Edmundo Kabchi. With a contract that expires in 2023, Araujo will continue to be among the senior team’s lowest paid players. According to Sport, Kabchi has informed Barca of the city’s interest and urged them to take the recruitment of the Uruguay international seriously.
Araujo believes it’s time to be compensated fairly for his services.
Ronald Araujo is interested in offers from Premier League
Even though City has been the best side in the Premier League this year, Pep Guardiola might try to bolster the team in a few different areas by the conclusion of 2021–2022. According to the story, City manager Pep Guardiola was spotted having dinner with the center-back’s agent, Edmundo Kabchi. This will undoubtedly fuel more rumours about the center-back’s future.
With just 17 months left on his deal, Araujo is eager for Barcelona to extend their agreement with a player who has shown promise since joining the first squad. In La Liga and the Champions League this season, the 22-year-old—who has also been connected to Chelsea and Manchester United—has made 15 starts and six substitute appearances.
