According to CaughtOffside, Manchester City is eager to replace Ederson as goalie this summer and has already begun negotiating a deal. According to people familiar with the matter, Man City is considering Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa, with preliminary discussions already underway, and Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia.
Garcia is a known target for Arsenal ahead of the summer; last year, the Gunners nearly signed him, but it fell through. The north London powerhouses are still interested in Garcia, but the fact that City is now interested as well and has begun to replace Ederson could be an issue for them.
Although there are a number of factors that will affect how this plays out, it is currently believed that Costa is City’s top target. The problem there is that the Portuguese goalie is also highly desired by Bayern Munich.
