Manchester City are reportedly preparing a bid of €35 million (£29.4 million) for AC Milan’s left-back, Theo Hernandez, as they seek to bolster their defensive lineup ahead of the upcoming season.

The 27-year-old French international has been a pivotal figure for AC Milan since his arrival in 2019, contributing significantly to their Serie A triumph in the 2021-2022 season.
However, contract negotiations between Hernandez and Milan have reached a stalemate, with discussions halted for several months.
His agent, Manuel Garcia Quilon, revealed, “There are no negotiations; we haven’t spoken about anything for four months, since May or June.”
This impasse has alerted several European giants. Manchester City, in particular, are keen to address their left-back position, having relied on makeshift solutions in recent times.
While their primary target remains Juventus’ Andrea Cambiaso, the club views Hernandez as a formidable alternative should the Cambiaso pursuit not materialize.
However, City face stiff competition. Real Madrid, where Hernandez previously played between 2017 and 2019, are also interested in re-signing the defender.
Reports suggest that Hernandez is “willing to do everything possible” to return to Madrid, viewing it as a significant step forward in his career.
AC Milan, aware of the growing interest and the stalled contract talks, might consider cashing in on Hernandez to avoid losing him for free when his contract expires in 2026.
The club is reportedly contemplating a contract extension until 2028 to strengthen its position in potential future negotiations.
As the summer transfer window approaches, Manchester City’s pursuit of Hernandez underscores their intent to reinforce their squad.
Whether they can outmaneuver Real Madrid and meet AC Milan’s valuation for the talented left-back remains to be seen.
