John Stones - Manchester City Players Leaving

Manchester City is reportedly increasingly likely to sell England international John Stones this summer with a right for all parties to depart. For almost £47.5 million, the 30-year-old moved from Everton to Manchester City in 2016, making him one of the priciest defenders in the world.

Stones had many detractors when he first started his career, but he has mostly quieted them as he has continuously been among the top center backs in the Premier League under Pep Guardiola at the Etihad. The seasoned defender has earned 83 caps since making his senior debut in 2014 and has excelled for England at a number of important competitions.

Man City has had a challenging season; they are currently third in our calendar year standings and their bid for the Premier League title ended before the year finished. Stones has also had a difficult 2024–25 season, and according to a rumor from last month, Guardiola has taken the drastic decision to let him and seven other Man City players go.

Manchester City make John Stones transfer decision

Subsequent departures, such as Stones, would make room for big-name additions to the team, some of which Hugo Viana and others are already working on and progressing according to schedule in the run-up to the FIFA Club World Cup.

While Rayan Cherki has recently become the front-runner for the attacking midfield position, Tijjani Reijnders has long been considered the top target in the middle of the park. Both fullback positions are also anticipated to see additions.

However, City will continue to be open to sales. The remaining 10 potential exits that have been proposed are probably going to be made up of Kyle Walker, Kalvin Phillips, Ederson, Stefan Ortega, Jack Grealish, Ilkay Gundogan, Bernardo Silva, Nathan Ake, and Matheus Nunes.

Since Pep Guardiola is aware of the need to bring in a new generation gradually while retaining experience in his ranks, it is extremely unlikely that all ten of the names mentioned in this report will leave during the same summer transfer window.
