As per Give Me Sport, Manchester City may consider offering Real Madrid’s Rodrygo Goes as a substitute for Julian Alvarez, who is headed to Atletico Madrid. The report’s premise is that Pep Guardiola may be able to get the Brazilian winger, and the Brazilian will likely struggle to get playing time with Kylian Mbappe around.
A few names have reportedly already been floated in media sources as Pep Guardiola looks to replace the outgoing Argentine. Eberechi Eze is on that list; in addition to add-ons, Man City may only satisfy the Crystal Palace player’s simple release clause. The most recent arrival, Brazilian Rodrygo Goes, is already a player Guardiola could prefer.
Rodrygo stance on Man City move revealed
Real Madrid will probably need to pay a club record to for Real City to let go of the Brazilian, as Man City views this as a major operation. The club will have the extra cash to pull the strings for the Rodrygo transfer because the Alvarez cash is burning a hole in their budget, but any move, particularly for the stated reason, appears doubtful.
Rodrygo, the twice Champions League winner for Real Madrid, is reportedly unwilling to leave the Spanish top division, which is unfortunate for them. With the addition of Kylian Mbappe, Rodrygo is clearly betting on Madrid’s chances of making some noise both at home and in Europe the upcoming season. The 23-year-old Brazilian is one of Los Blancos’ recent success stories, along with players like Vini Jr. and Jude Bellingham.
