Kyogo Furuhashi, a forward for Celtic, is being considered by Manchester City. In Julian Alvarez, who cost £82 million ($107 million) when he signed with Atletico Madrid, City hopes to find a replacement who is willing to play in the team at the Etihad Stadium. Only 29-year-old Furuhashi and one other younger forward remain in their search parameters.
The hoops sensation Kyogo has surfaced as a surprise target for the Cityzens ahead of the deadline next week, as Pep Guardiola now wants to replace him to lessen the load on Erling Haaland in attack. Since joining Celtic on Ange Postecoglou’s roster, the Japan international has been a mainstay. He has scored 73 goals in 135 games, ranking as the team’s top scorer in two of his three full seasons.
Man City Want to Sign Kyogo
As a way to cover for Haaland, journalist Sam Lee claims that City is thinking about moving forward with a deal to bring Ilkay Gundogan back to the Etihad Stadium. After leaving the team for Barcelona last summer on a free transfer, the German is free to leave again this summer, and it appears that he will be returning to the blue half of Manchester.
While Kyogo Furuhashi is amenable to moving to the Premier League and it is thought that personal terms won’t be an issue, City is also considering a younger forward as a possible option, and a deal hasn’t been finalised yet.
