Manchester City are ready to make Erling Haaland the highest-paid player in England

Manchester City are ready to make Erling Haaland the highest-paid player in England, should he complete a move from Borussia Dortmund to the Etihad Stadium this summer.

With a weekly salary of more than £500,000, the 21-year-old would become the Premier League’s top earner, surpassing Kevin

De Bruyne, who is rumoured to make around £385,000.
The comparatively modest £63 million release clause in the striker’s Dortmund contract means the player’s representatives – Mino Raiola and former City player Alfie Haaland – are certain to receive large rewards, bringing the total cost to close to £100 million.

City are thought to feel a definitive decision might be made within a month, which coincides with stories from across the continent indicating we are now just a few weeks away from learning where the brilliant attacker will play his football next season.

Pep Guardiola’s team had made the greatest bid for the Nord so far, with numbers near to Team Haaland’s desired €25 million per season net – which works out to little over £400,000 per week after taxes.

Most reports on Haaland’s future tend to position City and Real Madrid at the top of the queue for his signing at the moment, with a definitive decision likely in the coming weeks.
