Manchester City are reportedly prepared to send promising defender Abdukodir Khusanov out on loan, just months after his high-profile arrival from RC Lens.

The 21-year-old Uzbek international joined City in January 2025 for a fee of €40 million, becoming the first player from Uzbekistan to sign for a Premier League club.
Khusanov made an immediate impact, earning the Etihad Player of the Month award in February after a series of strong performances, including a goal in the FA Cup against Plymouth Argyle.
However, his momentum has since waned. A challenging Premier League debut against Chelsea, where an early error led to a goal, marked the beginning of a difficult period.
Despite initial support from manager Pep Guardiola, Khusanov has not featured in matchday squads since mid-March.
The emergence of academy talent Nico O’Reilly, who has impressed at left-back and allowed Josko Gvardiol to return to his preferred central role, has further limited Khusanov’s opportunities.
With only nine appearances to date, City believe a loan move would provide Khusanov with the regular first-team football necessary for his development.
While City remain committed to Khusanov’s long-term future, they recognize the need for him to gain experience elsewhere.
