Manchester City Set To Offer Kevin De Bruyne Contract Extension

Manchester City are working on extending Kevin De Bruyne’s contract.

Reputed journalist, Fabrizio Romano states that the Belgian is happy at the club and willing to stay.

This bit of news comes just days after Pep Guardiola extended his stay at Manchester until 2023. This should be a positive sign for De Bruyne to have faith in City’s future. After all, they did manage to evade the entire ban from European football for two seasons. So, that is no longer a concern.

Romano said, “Official negotiations have started. The contract is on the table and the extension of Pep Guardiola was decisive for that of De Bruyne. The player wants to stay.

“He is also negotiating without an agent because he is happy at the club.”

De Bruyne is already the highest-paid City player as from our Manchester City players wages list. He won the PFA Player of the Year award last season despite City not winning the league title. The Belgian collected 16 goals and 23 assists in 48 appearances last term.

He is clearly one of the best midfielders out there and he deserves a mammoth contract. City will need to tie him down as he continues to enjoy the prime of his career. De Bruyne’s last extension was signed in 2018 and is set to continue till 2023. Instead of leaving it any later, the Cityzens want to secure his future for longer right now.
