Bernardo Silva also responded to questions over his future at Etihad.

Manchester City player Bernardo Silva is in no mood to leave his club. The Portugal international has sounded off on his frustration over not having yet won the Champions League and says Pep’s City is required to win the competition.

Bernardo Silva is personally having one of the best seasons of his life while his club has also taken a good lead over 2nd placed Liverpool in Premier League 2021-22. Man City will face Sporting in the Champions League round-of-16 in February.

Bernardo Silva  expressed his view to O Jogo mentioning the Champions League, “Obviously the Champions is one of the big goals because it’s the competition this club have never won and we need to win.”

“It’s been a frustration for us not to get there. Last year we went to the final, but we couldn’t win it.

“I still believe that the most important competition, the base competition, is the Premier League. It’s like a great Portuguese club, whose first objective is to win the league.

“Afterwards, the cups are important, with the Champions being the most important event. But these are already special competitions, where you have to be lucky, where a small detail throws you out of the competition.

“I mean a sending-off, a poorly signalled penalty, a ball that doesn’t go in, hits the post and goes in or out. And such a move can decide the continuity of a team in the competition.

“But I say again, the base competition is the Premier League, where the strongest wins. Champions, being the most prestigious competition, we have to look to win it and we know that this club needs it.”

Bernardo Silva also responded to questions over his future at Etihad. He said, “It depends. Right now I think it’s the best championship in the world, I think it’s the country where the level is highest.

“There was a Spanish dominance a few years ago, which lasted a long time. I think that at the moment the English teams are the strongest in the world and therefore it is always good to be where the best football is played.

“Then there are personal decisions that also count, such as being closer to the family, etc. But I confess that one of my dreams was to be part of the best championship in the world.”

Pep Guardiola is the best manager in the Premier League.

Roy Keane has snubbed the likes of Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel and believes Guardiola is the best manager in the Premier League and is in a league of his own.

Pep has won three Premier League titles with the Cityzens since his arrival in 2016 and the team is currently leading the top-flight.

‘I remember we did a game last year, I didn’t write off Man City but I think I said they lost their mojo,’ Keane said on Sky Bet’s Driving Home for Christmas.

‘And then they won the league and it was like a doddle to them.

‘Obviously I know they put in the hard work, but they won it and United finished second but United we’re never going to catch them, I’d never bet against Man City now, I’ve just learnt my lesson from last year.

‘It doesn’t necessarily mean Liverpool or Chelsea can’t pip them to the title, but I think Pep is the man, I look at all of the managers I think Pep is the man.’

Guardiola said on Sunday: “It was not rotation. I decided on this team because they deserved to play today, these guys and not the other ones.

“At Christmas time I pay a lot of attention to behaviour on and off the pitch. And when off the pitch is not proper, they are not going to play.

“So we have to be focused all the time because of distractions at Christmas time and everything that happens – you have to still be focused.”

Man City reject Atletico Miniero offer for Fernandinho

Pep Guardiola is counting on Fernandinho until the end of the season.

Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho is looking to make a move to another club. The defensive midfielder is being linked to Atletico Miniero. He has been linked to the Brazilian club for the past year.

As per the reports of journalist Jorge Nicola, via Sport Witness translation, Miniero are showing real interest in the 36-year-old for a January transfer.

it would be not easy for the former Brazil skipper as Premier League champions are blocking any possible move. Man City manager Pep Guardiola is counting on Fernandinho until the end of the season when his contract expires.

Fernandinho has amassed only 654 minutes of football from a possible 2160 but he is still an important player for City. The 36-year-old provides backup to Rodri and is still called upon when injury strikes.

Pep Guardiola believes they were lucky against Newcastle United.

The Cityzens have now won seven Premier League games in a row and sit comfortably at the top of the league table.

Pep’s side have won 14 Premier League games this season which is the most for any other club.

Guardiola also praised Cancelo for his superb solo goal in the first half of the game.

“A good result, not a good performance. We were lucky but Newcastle did not defend well for the first goal and a brilliant action from Joao Cancelo for the second goal. The first half was one of the worst we have played this season and second half was much better,” Guardiola said.

“We played better with the ball, gave players more touches but were losing balls in the first half. We were calm at half-time and spoke about what we should do.

“It was a fantastic goal (from Cancelo), we know the quality he has in the final third and he dribbled and did it.

“Records show consistency we have as a team, it is not winning titles or finals but it is winning and winning. Records are there to be broken and happy to have them.”

Manchester City predicted to win the league by ten points

Manchester City are currently sitting at the top of the Premier League table.

Pep Guardiola’s men thrashed Bielsa’s Leeds United by scoring 7 goals this midweek marking their seventh consecutive league victory.

Ex-Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino believes that there won’t be a close tie in May and Man City would be ten points ahead in the league table.

‘I want my former club Chelsea to have some sort of involvement, and I want the team I supported as boy, Liverpool, to hang on to Man City’s coattails – but I think that’s about as good as it’s going to get,’ Cascarino told talkSPORT.

‘If Liverpool finish above City, I think it would be their biggest achievement in recent history, because City are an exceptional team.

‘Seven straight wins. They’ve won nine of the last ten and the only game they lost was the one they didn’t need anything from, RB Leipzig away in the Champions League.

‘If you’ve got Phil Foden on form, Bernardo Silva on form, Kevin De Bruyne coming back from injury and he starts doing what he can do – and we all know what that is – it’s pretty devastating.

‘My personal feeling, and I might be way out here, but I think Man City will win it by 10 points.’

Manchester City and Pep set new records after Leeds victory

Pep Guardiola’s side is now four points clear at the top of the table.

Manchester City and Pep secured a thumping victory against Leeds and set new records. The Club have equalled Liverpool’s all-time top-flight record for the most wins in a single calendar year. City thrashed Leeds United 7-0 on Wednesday night.

The Citizens were three goals ahead after the first half, thanks to strikes from Phil Foden, Jack Grealish and Kevin De Bruyne.

Foden’s first goal was the 500th Premier League goal under Pep Guardiola. He broke the previous top-flight record set by Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, who scored their 500th league goal in his 234th game earlier this season.

It was Man City’s 33rd league win in 2021, which matches the impressive feat achieved by Liverpool back in 1982. Chelsea’s 32 victories in 2005 was the Premier League record before Man City’s victory against Leeds.

Guardiola’s side is now four points clear at the top of the table and they have three more games left in 2021. They will look to break this record in their next game against struggling Newcastle.

Sterling sends message to Guardiola over Man City playing time

Sterling scored the winner against the Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday.

Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling is happy to get a chance to get his club career back on track in recent weeks. The 27-year-old was struggling for form and confidence at Man City at the start of the season 2021/22.

Englishman is back in the form with manager Pep Guardiola and scored the winner in a 1-0 win against Wolves in the Premier League encounter on Saturday.

Sterling said after the Wolves game, “I am a player that likes to feel that they can help their team and I am really grateful to have this run in the side so I can do just that.”

“We have got two, top players in each position that play for their national team, so there are loads of challenges.”

Sterling also joined the elite club of scoring 100 goals in Man City outfit. The 27-year-old forward stated on this milestone, “It is great to join a really lovely club, so I am really happy. As soon as I saw the referee point to the spot, I picked my place and went for it.

“It was really nice to see it go in. I have come to realise that once I have a decision (on where I want to put the ball), then stick with it.

“Then, it is just about execution. I have been practicing so it was good to see it come off. It is a nice achievement to get to, but the most important thing today was the win and I am just happy to help the team.”

Pep Guardiola was satisfied with his side’s win over Wolves.

The Cityzens nailed a hard-fought 1-0 win against 10-men Wolves’ side on Saturday evening.

Wolves forward Raul Jimenez was sent off after getting two bookings in quick succession.

Raheem Sterling recorded his 100th Premier League goal from a controversial penalty in the second-half of the game.

The England forward made his fifth strike in eight appearances this season after having a rough start to the season.

“We were better with 11 players and we were better with 10 players,” said City manager Guardiola.

“It is difficult to play against a team that don’t want to play. They are so good defending and we knew how tough it would be but we didn’t lose patience.

“They want you to destruct and they can punish you but we were good and it was a good result for us.

“We conceded just one chance after 93 or 94 minutes.”
