Manchester City are preparing a formal bid for Newcastle United’s rising star Tino Livramento, according to GIVEMESPORT—and the Etihad chief Pep Guardiola believes the 22‑year‑old is eager for a move.

Man City made bid for Newcastle’s versatile star Livramento

Despite Newcastle’s firm stance that their versatile full-back is “not for sale”, City view Livramento’s possible interest as a valuable inside track.

City have already made a busy start to the summer, signing Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Ait-Nouri, and Rayan Cherki ahead of the Club World Cup, while Kevin De Bruyne has departed for Napoli.

But with Kyle Walker expected out and Guardiola keen to reinforce the flanks, right-back remains a priority. Livramento, who excels equally on either side, has reportedly become their top target.

Eddie Howe has been vocal in his determination to retain Livramento, expressing doubt that Newcastle would ever even enter serious talks.

The club spent around £32–40 million to sign him in 2023 and have since tipped Champions League qualification putting them in a strong defensive financial position.

TalkSPORT backs that City could hit a wall due to Newcastle’s unwillingness to sell.

Reports suggest the asking price may hover between £70–80 million, a figure Guardiola and City may hesitate to meet given their recent spending.

Livramento himself has played down the speculation. Speaking during England U21 duty, he said: “I don’t know anything about that.… I’m very much focused on what I am doing here now.”

He added that his strong relationship with Howe—“in constant contact”—anchors him to Newcastle for the season to come.

City’s interest is genuine as they line up more signings under new sporting director Hugo Viana but their bid is currently “on hold” as Newcastle hold their line.

With the Club World Cup about to kick off, a deal before then now seems unlikely. But sources insist City will revisit their pursuit later in the window.
