Man City midfielder gives update on his future amid Madrid links

Omar Marmoush of Manchester City will not play in the forthcoming Manchester derby because of a knee injury he suffered during Egypt’s World Cup qualifying match against Burkina Faso. Concerns have been raised over Marmoush’s availability for upcoming games due to the injury, which was defined as a damaged knee ligament and happened early in the game.

Marmoush and Mohamed Salah started offensively for Egypt in Tuesday’s World Cup qualifying match against Burkina Faso in Ouagadougou. But he hobbled off the pitch due to a knee issue less than ten minutes into the goalless stalemate.

Following a tackle in the game’s fourth minute, the injury occurred. Marmoush was finally replaced in the ninth minute after initially trying to continue playing. With strapping on his right knee, he sat on the bench for the rest of the game.

The injury to Marmoush’s knee ligament was confirmed by Mohamed Abu El-Ela, the team doctor for Egypt. The squad will travel to Cairo and an X-ray will be performed to determine the exact extent of the damage. With two qualifiers still to play, Egypt still led Group A by five points in spite of the loss.

Man City suffer major injury blow

A major setback for Manchester City ahead of Sunday’s eagerly awaited derby against Manchester United is Marmoush’s absence. With eight goals in 28 games in all competitions since joining from Eintracht Frankfurt in January, the 26-year-old attacker has been a vital member of the team. Because of his offensive ability and adaptability, he was a vital member of City’s early-season squad.

Marmoush’s absence means City will have to change up their offensive options for the derby. Pep Guardiola, the manager, will need to think of other ways to make up for losing the Egyptian international.

It will be hoped that Marmoush and Manchester City both recover quickly when he travels to Manchester for more evaluation and rehabilitation. To choose the best course of action, the club’s medical staff will keep a careful eye on his condition.

In the meanwhile, City will concentrate on getting ready for the next games, such as their Champions League opening against Napoli and the Manchester derby. In order to continue pursuing success in both home and European tournaments, the squad will attempt to overcome the obstacles presented by the current injury problem.
