The Daily Mail claims that Nottingham Forest has increased their interest in James McAtee, a midfielder for Manchester City. If Forest can hold off the competition, they will have a good chance of acquiring the 22-year-old, who is set to depart Man City this summer. But in order to get his signature, they will need to move fast.

Morgan Gibbs-White of Nottingham Forest, who finished the previous season with seven goals and eight assists, is said to have reached a personal agreement with Manchester City. City is anticipated to sell James McAtee for about £25 million; however, a transfer agreement has not yet been formalized. German clubs are showing interest in McAtee, who is currently surplus to needs.

Manchester City has agreed to personal terms with Morgan Gibbs-White of Nottingham Forest, bringing them closer to making their sixth summer acquisition after Kevin De Bruyne left on a free transfer. The 24-year-old England international has stated his desire to join Pep Guardiola’s team. He finished the previous season with seven goals and eight assists in the Premier League.

McAtee has long been admired by Forest, who have now intensified their pursuit of the 22-year-old as Gibbs-White is ready to join Spurs.

Although they will have fierce competition from Germany and Italy for the Manchester City attacking midfielder, West Ham United is also interested in McAtee as they search for attacking alternatives for Mohammed Kudus, who is expected to sign a £55 million contract with Tottenham.

Teams in the Bundesliga and Serie A, including Fiorentina and Roma, as well as Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt, are also interested in McAtee. McAtee, who became dissatisfied with his lack of opportunities at City last season, is looking for a team that can supply him with consistent playing time.

Gibbs-White is expected to follow Anthony Elanga, who is leaving the City Ground for Newcastle; thus, Forest is eager to increase its offensive options. McAtee and Brentford striker Yoane Wissa are two players they have their sights set on.

This week, Telegraph Sport revealed that they were also considering Johan Bakayoko, a winger for PSV Eindhoven. McAtee’s suitors are hoping to pay approximately £25 million for the youngster, who can play as a wide forward or as a No. 10.
