Kyle Walker, who was listed for sale by Manchester City, has agreed to join Everton. At the Etihad Stadium, the 35-year-old has won six Premier League trophies in the last ten years, making him one of the top right-backs in the world.
The squad that won Man City’s first Champions League championship in 2023 had Walker as a crucial player. Before Pep Guardiola benched the England star last season, he had made at least 30 appearances for seven consecutive seasons.
Walker was loaned to AC Milan by Man City after the season’s first half was unsatisfactory, and the team is now prepared to sell the veteran. The Serie A powerhouses have now chosen to drop their desire to make Walker’s stay permanent, despite their original interest.
However, it has taken Walker a long time to find a new team, as The Sun reports that the Euro 2020 and Euro 2024 starter has agreed to a one-year contract with Everton.
Kyle Walker agrees to join Premier League club
Everton is considering four right-back alternatives, and Kyle Walker, a Manchester City veteran, is eager to discuss a potential transfer. The 35-year-old Walker’s trophy-winning background and experience, according to David Moyes, would benefit his club, which finished well last season under his leadership.
Walker is eager to play in the United States for the World Cup next summer and wants to get 100 England caps. According to reports, he thinks he has a great chance of playing for the Three Lions if he moves to Everton and continues playing regular games for the entire season under David Moyes.
When Moyes returned to Goodison Park, Everton, who had been in a relegation war under Sean Dyche, shot up the Premier League standings and finished in 13th place. Walker isn’t the only well-known player leaving Etihad Stadium this summer; Jack Grealish is also expected to be sold after being left off of Guardiola’s Club World Cup roster.
Due to his lack of playing time the previous season, Grealish has been linked to a return to his boyhood club, Aston Villa, with Tottenham reportedly interested in a trade as well.
