Burnley have completed the season-long loan signing of Manchester City defender Max Alleyne, bolstering their defensive options ahead of the new Championship campaign.

Alleyne arrives with valuable experience from his previous loan spell at Watford, where he impressed during the first half of last season before being recalled to the Etihad due to an injury crisis at Manchester City.
Upon his return, the England Under-21 international featured seven times for City’s side, including appearances in the League Cup semi-finals against Newcastle United and the Champions League clash with Bodo/Glimt.
The young defender expressed his enthusiasm about the switch, telling Burnley’s official website:
“I’m super excited, I can’t wait to get going. I had my first training session today and I’ve really enjoyed it so far, meeting the manager and my teammates.”
Alleyne revealed that he first learned of Burnley’s interest several months ago and is delighted to finalise the move.
“It’s a huge team, a Premier League team to be honest and I’m so buzzing to be here,” he added.
The centre-back’s statistical output during his brief Championship stint with Watford demonstrates his potential impact.
He recorded the second-most tackles among defenders at the club with 20, won 72 duels to rank third, and made 76 clearances to sit fourth in those categories.
Manager Nicky Hayen will look to integrate Alleyne into his defensive setup immediately, with the Manchester City product expected to provide crucial steel and resilience at the back.
His combination of top-flight experience and proven Championship pedigree makes him a valuable addition as Burnley pursue their promotion ambitions.
