Tottenham Complete Loan Deal for Manchester City Forward Omar Marmoush
The 27-year-old Egypt international joins Thomas Frank’s squad after falling down the pecking order at the Etihad Stadium, where Erling Haaland remains the undisputed first-choice striker.

Marmoush becomes the latest high-profile addition to a Spurs squad that has undergone a significant transformation this summer, with the club’s spending already exceeding £312 million in the transfer window.
“I’m delighted to be here,” Marmoush told the club’s official website.
“Tottenham Hotspur is one of the biggest clubs in England, if not the world, and the project was very attractive to me.”
The forward, who signed for City from Eintracht Frankfurt for £59 million in January 2025, has scored 16 goals in 62 appearances across all competitions for the Premier League champions.
However, his game time has diminished significantly, with 13 of his 21 league appearances last season coming from the substitutes’ bench.
Marmoush was an unused substitute in City’s 2-1 Premier League victory over Bournemouth last Sunday, having previously featured as a second-half substitute in the Community Shield defeat to Arsenal.
Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi expressed his excitement about the acquisition, stating:
“Omar is exactly the kind of player we want at this club – ambitious, hungry and determined to make a difference.”
The Italian manager added: “He has incredible attacking quality but what I also love is his desire to improve and to win.
He brings pace, intelligence and a real threat in front of goal, and I believe he can take our attacking play to another level.”
Marmoush will link up with former City teammate Savio at Spurs, after the Brazilian completed his £75 million move to north London earlier this week.
The club have been particularly active in the transfer market, securing Mateus Fernandes from West Ham, Sandro Tonali from Newcastle, and Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton.
Defenders Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson, along with goalkeeper Martin Dubravka, have also arrived on free transfers.
De Zerbi believes the Egyptian’s versatility and attacking prowess will prove invaluable as Spurs look to challenge for silverware this season.
