Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has stated that winger Oscar Bobb wants to leave the club this January.

Guardiola Confirms Oscar Bobb Seeks Manchester City Exit

The Norwegian international has struggled for regular playing time, fueling rumors of a departure during the transfer window.

Guardiola directly addressed the speculation, noting he remains uncertain about the outcome.

“I don’t know yet,” he said.

“I know there are rumors, and I know he is talking, but I don’t know right now.”

When pressed on whether Bobb desires an exit, Guardiola affirmed, “I think so.”

Bobb’s potential move highlights the challenges for emerging talents at elite clubs. Meanwhile, City faces another possible departure at season’s end.

Club captain Bernardo Silva has not signed a new contract, with his current deal expiring this summer. Guardiola expressed his hope for Silva to stay but acknowledged the player’s autonomy.

“I would love for Man City, for myself as well, if Bernardo could stay forever,” Guardiola said.

“Whatever happens, he will remain one of the greatest players in club history.”

The manager lavished praise on Silva, calling him “undroppable” after City’s recent Premier League win against Wolves.

“Playing like he did today, he will be undroppable. I cannot drop him,” Guardiola insisted. He emphasized Silva’s competitive drive and reliability, adding,

“When I decide to play Bernardo, I sleep better. He never finds excuses, and that’s why he’s a special player.”

Attention now turns to City’s crucial Champions League clash against Galatasaray on Wednesday.

Guardiola appealed for strong fan support, especially with multiple key players sidelined. He confirmed absences for Rodri, John Stones, Nico Gonzalez, and Savinho due to injuries.

“We need our fans,” Guardiola admitted.

“I know Marc Guehi cannot play, Antoine Semenyo cannot play, apart from all the players we have sidelined.”

A victory may not secure a top-eight finish, but Guardiola hopes the squad’s determination, inspired by leaders like Silva, will see them through.

As the January window progresses, Bobb’s situation remains immediate, while Silva’s future looms as a longer-term concern for the club.
