Galatasaray hope to lure Man City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan to Turkey

According to Fabrizio Romano, a transfer market expert who quoted unidentified sources on X, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has welcomed the possibility of having FC Barcelona player Ilkay Gundogan re-join his squad. “Know that Ilkay Gundogan’s return to Manchester City has already been approved by Pep Guardiola,” Romano tweeted early on Tuesday in Europe.

The first contact with Gundo’s camp was established yesterday, and Pep wants him back. The Italian continued, “Gundogan will make the decision because he has suggestions from Man City and Saudi Arabia.” Though speculation about Gundogan leaving Barcelona has been rampant in recent days, the player has been connected to moves away from the club since the beginning of the summer.

Man City ‘will not pay a single euro’ as Guardiola ‘approves’ swap deal

As to sources, Ilkay Gundogan, a midfielder for Barcelona, may be returning to Manchester City in exchange for Joao Cancelo. In his piece Caught Offside, Romano stated: “Barcelona needs to make room in their salary cap in one way or another.” It seems more likely that Gundogan will go than stay, in my opinion. Barcelona is gradually accepting life without Gundogan, despite the fact that he has only been there a year. The transfer market is known for its rapid changes.

Understand that Ilkay Gündogan’s return to Manchester City has already been accepted by Pep Guardiola, the Italian journalist continued. Pep wants Gündo back because he and his camp are now in talks; yesterday was the first time they spoke. Gündogan will decide because he has suggestions from Manchester City and Saudi Arabia on the matter.
